Anti WAR-CRY in Los Angeles
Related to country: United States

The aclaimed Fountain Theatre is launching a hard hitting anti war play.
We are at the helm of a world wide presentation of our adaptation of Eliot Weinberger's article, WHAT I HEARD ABOUT IRAQ. Our full production will include multi media, music and five actors portraying the real people involved in this war. Not only will we present verbatim quotes from the administration, pentagon and military, we will take you to the streets of Iraq to witness consequences of the terrible acts of war.
"War is bad, but its remnants are worse."

We open with a commemorative tribute on September 11 and run through October 9.

get involved in ant war theatre project in L.A.
Related to country: United States

As I said in my bio, I am involved in an amazing theatre project at the Fountain Theatre in Los Angeles: (www.fountaintheatre.com)

The Fountain is adapting Eliot Wienberger's stunning article WHAT I HEARD ABOUT IRAQ to an original theatrical piece. Due to open on September 11, we are at the helm of a world wide clarion call. The text of the piece will be read all over the world over the September weekend. Our premier will be a fully produced, multi media event.

If you are local to Los Angeles, we invite you to be part of our publicity team. You can help us expand our audience base to include more young people like yourselves! You can send a representative to one of our "talk back" sessions after the show to interact with audience members about the war. Is there enough concerned youth in the L.A. area to get involved with our Award Winning theatre?

If you are interested in the project, but live outside the L.A area, you can get involved by staging a reading of your own. Be part of the world wide clarion call. Our piece is being read as far away as Berlin at their literary festival and as close to home as Connecticut and many places in between.

Please contact me for more information on the project.

And in the meantime, stay active. Many of us hippies from the 60s and 70s have not sold out and continue to speak up. It does our collective heart good to know your generation has a voice of its own.
